Best knife for under $20 IMO

Not the most exciting blade in the world but for it's price I think an Opinel 8 would be hard to beat..

Edit, and for a fixed blade probably a Cold Steel GI Tanto which is basically a big slab of carbonsteel that you can mod into anything you like.

+1 for the GI Tanto.

+1 for the GI Tanto.

+2 GI Tanto. Great value for $19. Utilitac II for a folder for $23 really look around can probably find under $20.

Under $20?

Fixed blade : Mora
New folder: Victorinox Recruit
Old folder: Any number of out of production Camillus, Schrade, Ulster, Kutmaster, etc.

The Cold Steel Kudu is an amazing value.
I have seen them as low as 6 bucks on the big river site.
The Kudu was my harness knife for a long while till the Izula replaced it.

I've always appreciated good quality knives, as I've owned cheap and well made knives.

I was skeptical of the Mora Companion, but after reading reviews I made the plunge. I wanted a cheap bushcraft knife to throw in my "Oh $**t" bag.

What I got was a surprising hunk of carbon! It just feels solid and works so well. Insane to think of the cost vs quality.

Definitely is the highest quality knife for $20 imo. This and the Manix 2 S110V are probably THE best values out there for the craftsmanship.

Enlan EL-01 is the best folder for under 20 dollars. I bought mine for $16 and it has a beastly spear point and the blade flips out fast with no assisted opener and the liner lock is beefy. If you like budget knives and don't have a EL-01 yet you better take a look at it.

Mora High Q Robust, Opinel #9, Cadet. I have many high end knives but these are my most used because I can afford to lose and beat them.
