What do you think the best knife that kershaw makes is? In your own opinion. Not zt, just kershaw. Looking for some gift ideas. And by "best" I mean what is your favorite? The one you'd want the most?

A lot of people swear by the Blur. I would want a composite Leek or Junkyard Dog, depending on if I'm in the mood for something sleek or something beefy.

The list is sooo long. Lots of my favorite knives are kershaw. The blur will always remain in the tops, the cryo 2 is an extremely good value.

For a gift, I would look at something in the Leek/Shallot line, with a damascus (if you can find) or composite blade. Good looking, well made, useful sizes, and without getting too "tactical" looking like the Cryo/Thermite types.

With that said, the Kershaw blade I *use* the most, is the Skyline. I just don't know if it fits in line of what I would give as a gift - more a user (I tend to think of gifts as nicer than what I would get myself to use - if that makes sense).

Leek CB & S30V
Junkyard Dog
SpeedForm II
RAM (discontinued - tough to find - great little flipper)

You might be right. I remember way back before I was into knives, I would have liked just a solid steel construction that the leek and shallot have to offer.

My personal favorite is my FrankenBlur with the toxic green handles, carbon fiber inserts, and CPM-154 blade. The one that gets the most carry/use is my composite blade Leek, just because it is such a great size for EDC and performs great. The Ti ZDP Leek would be a great if you can find one. The ZDP189 composite blade Blur is another that would a great get (I'd swap that blade into the FrankenBlur).

"Best" is very subjective, of course. What are your preferences (or those of the person you're getting the knife for)?

The Lahar is also discontinued.

I would say you can't go wrong with a Knockout, Blur, Leek, Piston, Echelon, Turbulence, Skyline or Shallot.

If I find a shallot in Damascus that would be my choice for sure. Thanks for all the replies!

Stainless steel Scallion, I own several, but my Scallion with the stainless handles is my favorite. The stainless model is also a framelock.

Ya he Carries a 3 inch folder. It's probably not the thinnest knife around. But he doesn't mind carrying it.

It is a fabulous value. I carry one often. Kind of like a smaller budget ZT550.

The Cryo was just a bit undersized for me. Glad Kershaw came out with the Cryo II.

On the unassisted side of things, I'd recommend the Speedform, Injection, and Nerve. The Speedform is really quite a knife, with Elmax steel and a pretty unique appearance.
