Best Knife Lube 2015?

Call me old school, but I just use a few drops of tuf-glide in the pivot. I purposely use extra to flush out any gunk in the pivot. Let it dry for a day, and it's perfectly smooth.

I have used Quick Release oil with great success over the last 5 years. At least where Traditionals are concerned, if you have an older knife that has lost some walk and talk, this stuff only takes a few drops, work it in and see what I mean. They have a website so go there and watch the video, you'll be amazed at how it works. It helps to remove dirt and gunk from the joints to bring your older and newer knives back to glory. No I don't work for the company.:D

I use Eezox because it's hands down the best rust preventer I've ever used. I'm sure there are better options for the lube part of a CLP but I haven't had any complaints. Two drops in the pivot smooths everything out if it wasn't already and it seems to stay around for awhile too. I also noticed that it doesn't seem to attract pocket lint/grime.

Well, anyone with "PGH" in their screen name has instant credibility with me!

I suggested Eezox for knives on another forum and was met with scepticism. I use it several times a week in my firearms as a CLP with terrific results. Cures dry (no dust attraction). Applied in single drops (no runoff). Sonce it creates a dry micro barrier, cleaning thereafter is simple. Must be careful to avoid wet contact with plastics - it eats it.

One further note: While researching gun lubricants/CLPs and storage techniques, found well-established warnings to keep silicone-bearing products away from firearms. Longterm damage to metals, wood finishes and accessories. Goodbye "Gun Socks" and all silicone-bearing lubricants.

A question to those who use Nano Oil... It comes in 5, 10, and 85 weight. Which one works good on knife pivots?

I recently got some Frog Lube to try out. In researching it, I see the manufacturer recommends heating the meat parts, then applying the product, waiting an hour, and then wiping clean. Has anyone here tried that method on knives (as opposed to guns)?

So far I've just used a little at room temp and it works pretty well. Hard to say if it's any better than any other oil just yet.

Brian.

Fluorinated grease for me, works 100% of the time all the time.
Tried nano oil but not liking it too much.

I've been using Brian Enos' Slide Glide on my pistols for the last few years, works great on my Sebenza. Benchmade Blue lube on other folders.

Ballistol.
Or
Mineral Oil. Both non-toxic and safe on polymer and woods (and any other natural material)

Help an old guy out ....... are we talking side folders only, or OTF as well ? I am probably getting an Ultratech in a trade, and it is my first OTF. I've used a ton of different oils/grease over the last 45 years on guns/knives. What I've been using lately is Miltec-1. I like it on Glocks and Kahrs.

Nano oil is snake oil. Don't get me wrong tho, if you already have some its fine, its just lube... But its not as crazy awesome as its made out to be. Other lubes are far better and less costly and don't have a history of bogus claims and potential false advertising. Research nano oil diamond lube and slick 50. All snake oil advertising.
