What is your dream knife? What would be the baddest knife if only someone made it?

I would have to go with a Rex-45 in a hollow grind.. just imagine .016 behind the edge all the way for 1/4” from the edge. (What my Gayle Bradley 1 mic’s at) in a Gayle Bradley 3 that would have the choil of the 1 but the thinness in the handles of the Gayle Bradley 2 with micarta handles... I can only dream :)

Rockstead Shu upsized to a 3.75" blade with their polished dlc on ZDP-189, flamed ti handles with honeysuckle engraving and a wire clip.

It's probably been done before, but my dream knife would be a large three blade stockman with a push button auto opening main blade.

My 'grail' has changed over time.
Way back when (small kid time) it was a Bowie. Then AR (after Rambo) it was a survival knife. Then it was Japanese swords, real ones. I mean lets face it, a Japanese sword is the ultimate blade! Except I learned real fast that homey couldn't play that game cause you're talking some big bucks.
Then I chased the perfect folder for a bit. No such thing!
Now, today, a nice forged 5" Wharncliffe floats my boat.

The thing about custom knives is that you pretty much get what you want.
Every time.
 
I won't address custom one-offs or even limited editions, as those are subjective to individual taste, but I will address a production run knife that would be a homerun with the masses. If this doesn't interest you, then I've failed to answer your question and missed the mark. Too bad...lol.

Spyderco Native 5 with a Compression Lock. I can't imagine why Sal and Eric haven't done it, yet, other than they're afraid it will cannibalize the Para 3 and Lil' Native. This knife in either fluted carbon fiber or smooth molded G10 (think Shaman handle) would be a #1 hit. The functionality and beauty would crossover into mainstream culture. It would be a game changer. Make it happen, guys!
 
I heard of one ... so thin you could not see the blade unless a full broadside view, and the light was "just right".
Tough and sharp enough to cleanly cut unobtainium and whatever metal Wolverine's claws is --- something not even Darth's or Yoda's light saber could do.

It might make for a good sword or something. However, I think people have moved past swords for battlefield weapons, so it wouldn't really be of much practical use for the average people or even the average Zorro wanna-be and mall ninja.

In the book one sword (there were only eight made before they ran out of that super rare metal) cost as much as a fleet of interstellar battleships and support vessels. Hence the average Zorro wanna-be, mall ninja, and quite a few governments could not afford one, anyway.

A MEDIUM sized regular sebenza . . . with a stainless Damascus insingo blade, that would be my grail knife.
 
Spyderco Police (my all-time favorite Spyderco) that uses the compression lock. That would be sooo sweet

WTF. My dream knife is a fixed blade folder made of unobtanium and never needs sharpening and will never rust. It will whittle the hairs off of a bullfrogs ass. The bearings are made from fairy dust and it is self cleaning. It has a built it homing beacon so I can never lose it. It opens by voice command.
Even if S!K were giving these away free, wild horses dragging me through a field of cut glass could not convince to own one from that company! YMMV

I'll keep it simple.

An Ontario Rat 1 + D2 steel + wharncliffe blade + micarta handles in some cool colors.

I won't pick a super blade steel to help keep the cost down.
