best knife oil?

On the rare occasion I do oil my knives, I usually use Rem-oil. About the only time I use oil on my knives is when I'm cleaning some stubborn gunk off. Rarely put much oil in the pivot, etc, as in my experience it's tough to get the right amount and just a bit too much and it tends to attract dust and create goo, which is bad.

I use mineral oil and sometimes Ballistol. Lots of application for Ballistol. While in the bush I usually carry a small film cannister with a soft cloth soaked in oil to immediately clean my knife after getting the blood off. Same rag to wipe the gun down before going in the case to get the rusting fingerprints off it. No problems for many years with rust. Besides, if you need it it will help start a fire. The nice thing about RemOil is how thin it is, it'll get to all the critical parts fast after working the action only a few times. It also will evaporate in under a week if you're carrying the knife, and will leave a teflon barrier behind where it dried. Ain't science fun? :)
