I was reading though the "Best Knife You Ever Lost" thread and it got me thinking: If all these folks lost their knives, who finds them?
So what's the best knife you ever found?

The one and only I've ever found was an Opinel No. 6 with carbon blade. I found it on the bank of Green River three days into a 6 day kayak/raft trip.

While I havent ever found anything worth keeping a friend of mine found two benchmade emersons and a strider in a knife bin at a pawn shop and walked out with all 3 for under $50. I guess that would technically be more of a theft than a find :p

Not technically a knife, but my first tour in Iraq I found a Leatherman Wave. I still have to this day. I put the word out to everyone in my company as best I could in the situation, but nobody seemed concerned enough to claim it. I threw it in my pack while we were there because I'd already had the multitool covered with a back up.

Below the Becker Mag Camp, are the best I've ever found.

An OG Bucklite (matched the first one I bought as a kid)and an OG Gerber multi-tool with sheath.

In my attic I found a Case Lockback with my dad's initials on it from 1984 that was a gift from his company. If that counts, then that's mine.

I found one of these in a rental car when I was 8 or 9yrs old. Broke the tip in a tree, later on.

My little brother found a D2 Mini Grip on the ground on my mother's land. Knowing what a knife fan I am he gave it to me when I got excited at what a great find he'd made. Pretty awesome little brother.

Found a buck 110 with the tip broken off. Sent if off to Buck with a nice letter and was sent a brand new replacement 110 :D

I found a Gerber multi-tool with the blade broken off and keep it in the toolbox in my truck. I found an almost new Gerber lockback at the public entrance to some wetlands near my house, but figured it was still too new not to miss. There are a fairly small number of regulars who go that way in, so I let it lay for the one who dropped it. Not sure if he/she ever got it back, though.

I was leading a group of kids and one of them found a leatherman wave, seeing as it lacked the locks I figured it to be a few years old.. It had had the rust to suggest I was right..

The only knife I've ever found was this cheap lockback. Found it by a highschool while biking around the city.

Woah buck replaces 110's? and i managed to find a black vic classic around my apartments when i was a kid i loved that thing! i had two now i cant seem to find them :(

I found a swiss army knife when I was sixteen and I've been carrying it just over 16 years now.

I must really have no luck...or people in my area don't know quality knives. Either way, I can't say I've just randomly found a knife somewhere and I don't even see people around here with nice knives. Everyone just buys Walmart throwaways or something.

Forged ABS JS knife at Blade a few years ago. Tracked down a friend of the maker and gave it to him.

I've found three over the years. I bought a 1981 Chevy pick-up that was a true beater truck. The seat needed to be replaced and when I pulled out the factory seat there was a Camillus Air Force Survival knife from 1968 stuck in the springs. I used it for years but ended up losing it on a camping trip in West Virginia.

The other two are a Wenger SI found while fishing and a Camillus medium Stockman with Delrin stag while at a beach. Both were in very good condition. The stockman was dull but hadn't seen much abuse. I've still got both of those.
