Maybe someone has done this thread before but I think it would be interesting... Best knife you have EVER owned. That is all!! No considerations, size, weight, steel, use, fixed, folder, etc, etc. DOESNT MATTER! Just the most awesome knife you've ever owned.

:D

In keeping with the spirit of the thread from the OP, I won't explain why it's my personal best or list my criteria. Spyderco Paramilitary.

I would say that would be my SnG...

For awhile I carried a small seb and it was pretty good too.

In the fixed blade dept it is harder to say.

*Leatherman Wave. I've used that thing so many times since around 2000/2001 it's crazy. It has most of what I have needed in a pinch. Now I'm in the process of converting the blade to a zero convex, so it'll be even better.

*A simple Mora always gets the job done too. Cheap, reliable, sharp and you can get a bunch of them.

*Spyderco Para Military 2 (zero-grind convex). Just a great folder for urban tasks.

*Leatherman Squirt. The only downsides are it's weight and the chisel-ground blade (prefer equally beveled).

*Opinel knives. Great pocket scalpels... and they're cheap.

Totally honest here: My Victorinox Standart.

I got it in 1995 when I was 7 years old, and I still have it, it`s still going strong after all these years of childlike and adolecent (ab)use. It is the knife I will never ever get rid of, and it has a permanet place in my safe. It is the best knife I have ever owned, because it teached me, and showed me the usefulness, and purpose of a pocket knife.

Really close second place is my Para 2.

This thread sucks without pics. :D

For me it's a toss up between the Izula 2 and the Farmer below. The Izula is just a little guy so it gets carried the most out of convenience but it packs a punch when needed. It can baton some kindling and then prep veggies for dinner. Really I don't NEED any other knife but the Farmer is just such a performer that it's a pleasure to use. It's down right pretty too. The pic doesn't do it justice. It's 3/32" thick 1095 with a hand forged 4.75" inch blade with hamon and osage scales. It has a robust enough edge to use in the woods but the convex grind is done so well that it performs as well as a high end chef's knife in the kitchen. Awesome blade.

That's a beauthy! Looks real thin for a woods knife but maybe a pic of the spine would show different! :)
