That's it.

Fixed or folding.

No cost limit.

No size limit.

No "...for this application".

Just your opinion, about what is the best knife.

There is, of course, no "best" in the abstract - divorced from the user and the application.

That will not, of course, stop folks from replying to your unanswerable question.

Well I have best for this and that. If I had to pick one I'd go with the one I use the most. SAK Electrician. I use other knives because I like knives. Not because the SAK can't hang.

To me, the "Best" knife is that one which:

1. accomplishes what you need it to do
2. Has the aesthetics you like most
3. is sold within the price range you find acceptable
4. Is the one you can carry most often with the least amount of problems [meaning laws, public perceptions, etc].

If someone said I could only have one, It'd be one of the better cheap Moras. But is that the best....... I don't know. Probably, the best knife I have, right now, is a CRK Sebenza. But that's not the one I'd want with me in a pinch. Of course, a SAK or Leatherman would be able to do more, but I don't think I'd call them the "best". Best is relative.

Which ever one I grab in the morning. Wait, I often grab more than one. Meh, I still stand by my answer....
