Best Knifemakers that nobody remembers

Roderick "caribou" Chappel....one of the "founding fathers" of USA custom made knives....you know immediately by design when you see one of his pieces.

Even back in the 80's and 90's, the magazines were warning you or dropping hints not to deal with him because of money issues, which is a rare thing for any magazine. Great designer, poor business man.

Oh oops! So much for that. I didn't remember that either, apparently some makers are better left forgotten. I didn't comment on the Larry Harley post for the same reason.

When I first started collecting handmade hunting knives, these were some of the makers I found that I thought were world class and I lusted after their knives. I don't hear much about them these days but then I don't hang out in the custom knife discussion areas either.
