Best large fixed blade for batoning

Terava Skrama perhaps?

I kind of like this. It’s 80crv2 steel, which sounds like a step up from 1095 in terms of toughness...may check it out.

I like that one too. The carbon steel is easier to repair if you get chipping or rolling of the edge from batoning. The steels are tough too. 1095 is fine for a large chopper blade. I find Condor's 1075 just fine too for this purpose. I would worry about chipping with the higher end steels. But that is just me. I don't baton much and usually it's just for fun.

Added: I have the BR Wilderness Explorer model with a 5.75" blade (Cruwear). Believe it's about the same size as your 1.25 model. If I want to carry a fairly large knife in the woods, this is usually the choice but it really isn't big enough for batoning big stuff. I like your choice of the BR by the way. It is a cost thing for me relative to the amount of use I might give it.... hence the Condor's. But I love big blades! Just don't use them very often and sometimes never.
