So guys,
After seeing Sal from spyderco in action once again on both the spyderco subforum, in MT&E and in this subforum, I started thinking about which manufacturers really put something into this forum.

Now, luckily for us, they are mostly working hard on getting excellent products to us, but I'm curious who you feel is really good in participating here. For me, it definitely adds a lot to the value of the brand when there is a manufacturer willing to participate, it's about getting info from the source, which is awesome!

Whatever your criteria are, let's hear it!

My disclaimer: I only visit a couple of manufacturers subforums, so I can only speak of those I've seen, i hope you all chime in on the others. I understand that not everyone has time to be here, so I won't judge by that.

So for me, the number one here is:

Sal glesser, absolutely rocks, speaks to whomever about whatever, very good info, no Sales pitch when replying. Very cordial to everybody and other manufacturers. Often present. Go Sal!!! Thanks a lot for your presence here

The guys from esee can be seen a lot on the forums and have some cool giveaways going, busy little forum over there. I guess they will score too..

Rick hinderer recently started a subforum here and he is sometimes around. Doesn't seem the typing guy, but he participates, holds a good promise for the future.

The one I like the least is a guy that makes some nice knives, but only speaks when he has something to sell and never participates besides posting about new stuff you should buy, and then he "waves" goodbye. It appears there is more interest in selling than in this community. Which is his good right btw.

I like Thomas of Kershaw.

He does not put on a marketing hat, and he has no problems sharing the real deal. Maybe comes off as rough around the edges, but he's a real straight shooter.

ESEE . . . hands down. And I don't even own an ESEE knife!

Personal integrity and the willingness to tell the truth even if it negatively impacts sales goes a long, long way with me.

I just saw the Spyderco Sharpmaker video and Sal seems like a likeable guy who loves what he does.

in terms of activity, i would rank them as follows:

1. esee: always around, constant interaction with members.
2. busse: around quite a bit, moderate interaction with members.
3. spyderco: around freqeuntly, limited interaction with members.

additionally, sal is really the only one who posts throughout the forums, which i appreciate as well.

Personally I like Sal and Spyderco the most. Every post he makes is clear and concise with no BS, hype, or bragging, and it never feels like he is trying to sell you something. He just comes off as a down to earth craftsman who loves what he does and is proud of his products.

ESEE rules. I own a couple of their knives, and I don't even particularly like them, but the company itself is about as good as they come. Their customer service makes me want to purchase more from them!

Spyderco, no question.

ESEE, Busse, Kershaw, and CRK give back as well.

I like Sal and Spyderco the most. Closely followed by Thomas at Kershaw.

Can't stand any of them, all they want to do is kiss up and contribute to the forums so you'll continue to buy their products, all the while they become rich and you end up getting hurt repeatedly on their super sharp blades.......

GO: Sal/ESEE crew

Yup Sal and the boys on the ESEE sub forum are definately the top dogs as far as communication with the end user goes. I am very impressed with their way of doing business and how important it is for them to give us what we want. To be quite honest I don't own any ESEE products and only like 3 Spydercos however, lately, I've been visiting both manufacture forums atleast 3 times a week. ESEE's so damn good with their customer service/warranty that I feel like I want to spend my money on them just because I want to help grow their business. Same with Spyderco. Every knife is so well researched and tested for a specific task and we get the privelege of hearing about all of it first hand from the owner of the companies. I've followed Spyderco for a long time and have always loved them, and just recently roamed into the world of ESEEs. I can say with certainty that if there are two like products, one from one of these two excellent companies, and one from company X, I will always spend my money towards ESEE/Spyderco even if the cost a little bit more (which they rarely do).

Also I have been pretty impressed with Thomas W. from Kershaw lately. He seems to swoop in on most every Kershaw related thread lately. What impresses me is sometimes he will post in a thread that is actually about something else but something that has to do with Kershaw is brought up and suddenly POOF he appears and tells it like it is. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a couple times now at the Kershaw factory in Tualitin and he's a good guy.

Good thread Zyhano! These individuals that represent their given company deserve a big pat on the back as they are doing an excellent job. They make my as well as everyones time spent on BF that much more enjoyable. I hope other knife manufacturers will notice what great effect this has on your business and will start following in your footsteps!

Here at BF I would rate in this order...

1-Busse (this is more or less there main site, and way of selling there product, and much more action on the exchange than any other brand)

2-Esee

3-Spyderco
