Holy God of Blades... there are some mighty talented people doing the sacred work.
I'll have to agree with earlier mentions of the Shirogorov Model F95, but I'm biased toward the F95 'Nudist' with Elmax (my knife of choice and occasional carry), ahead of the Turtleshell in S30V... I prefer the smooth, clean elegance of the F95N to the F95T, but it's really, really close. Picking favorites with Shirogorov is difficult; they're both beautiful knives.
The F95N/Elmax is on the left, F95T/S30V on the right:
I think Russian and Belarussian knife-makers create the most beautiful and perfectly functional knives available, and amongst knives I don't own, the custom division and legendary full-custom knives by Igor (RIP) and Sergey Shirogorov, as well as honorary third Shirogorov Dmitry Sinkevich, are the best blades ever made. They're so beautiful, gazing too long is like staring at the Sun... they'll leave you blind to every other maker's work, and sear a hole in your psyche -- one that causes painful yearning, and can only be filled with expensive Russian cutlery
.
What makes it worse is that these two FULL CUSTOM SHIROGOROVS are for sale right now on the BF Exchange (by the same great seller I bought mine from).
The first model is the 'Icebreaker', the second is the 'Baikal'. Just... wow.

Sorry about the long post, I realize there's not enough internet to go around, and we should be protecting this precious non-renewable resource. Any enlightened e-conservationist only speaks in Haiku, and trims every post down to Twitterized specs. I know... worst of all, jpegs and gifs -- they're like hate crimes to radical cyber-protectionists. Think Silicon.
