I have a motor with part of the flange which has snapped of during transport, so it now has only 3 screw points instead of four, it's a one off motor so I dont want a refund, what is the best glue to bind the broken peices of metal together.

Thanks:(

Sadly, there is not any good choice for gluing a stress point in metal. You can try one of the good types of build up adhesives, like JB weld, but if you are trying to join two broken surfaces back together ,flush, the joint will surely fail.Perhaps taking the motor apart and having the broken part TIG welded would be your best choice.

Usually the frame and all casing parts are a low grade cast steel and do not weld easily or well, especially with tig. Better off with stick and a good cast iron rod. Depending on the use though it still typically will not last long. Is it just the one foot that broke off? This happens a lot and and usually where the back of the foot meets the casing. If so, bolt the motor down solid with all four bolts, using jb to fasten the broken one to the housing. Make sure you slip some cling wrap under the broken foot so it does not stick. Let it cure and if it doesn't hold run it with three and forget about it.
