Best mobile phone carrier

Verizon here. Only workable choice for the rural lot I own. Plus I get a discount from work. (Check verizon offers discounts to lots of places.) Happy with the service. no dropped calls, minimal dead areas, etc. But not the best luck with CS.

I called and cut one of my lines off. (#4 I added my son's girlfriend to our plan temporarily.) Three months after disconnecting it, Verizon automatically reactivated it and started charging me again. I had transfered that phone to another line so there was absolutely no way to connect on that line. They never told me they reactivated it until I saw it on my bill. I called to complain but never did manage to get the full refund. I gave up when they were within 2 dollars of what they had charged me...three calls to CS were enough.

I kinda look at Cell companies as a necessary evil.

Grizz

Been with Verizon for 17 years. They may not be the best for this or that (like rates or available phone models)...but I've always been able to connect the call no matter where I am, and very rarely is it ever dropped. To me that's priority #1. A cell phone without a signal is like a pistol without bullets...useless. :D

I have a non-smart verizon phone and do not pay data. Never heard of that before.

When is the last time you renewed your contract? I tried to renew last summer and was told I HAD to add, at least the $9.95 data plan regardless of what phone I got. I was told it was an effort on Verizon's part to help customers avoid accidentally racking up unknown data charges.:jerkit:

Verizon is the best. I have 16 phones for my employees and Verizon and the IPhone are awesome.

I had AT&T and switched.. My last brown bear hunt in Alaska we were 24 miles up some remote river, in the middle of no

Around here(Ft. Knox area) Verizon isn't even offered. In the building where I work at Ft. Knox, I see everybody walking to the windows or heading outside to make phone calls or send texts. None of the carriers seem to work inside the building, except Sprint. I've had nothing but Sprint, since I decided to get a cell phone about 10 years ago. At first, I had some problems, but the service has gotten better and better. I see no reason to switch from Sprint anytime soon.

I've just been with them for about 3 months. I left ATT after 10 years with them. I had major issues for months with ATT service (dropped calls constantly) and could not get any response from their customer service. They denied all problems. Been happy with Verizon so far.

Sprint will have nearly the same coverage as Verizon. The reason being: Sprint roams off of the Verizon network, and no company charges for roaming anymore; unless you have an ancient plan.

Verizon is the best choice around here. AT&T, at least around here doesn't seem to have any backup power at their towers. We're in the middle of our second extended power outage in two months (hurricane and now a October snow storm that dumped a foot of snow on trees that still had leaves). AT&T service goes down soon as the power does. Verizon has not. AT&T's land lines aren't any better.

Yah, there is no "best", that's for sure.

In my case, I switched from AT&T to Verizon and wish I hadn't. I switched because my wife does 90% of the talking and all her girlfriends have Verizon. So she insisted we get Verizon. But the factory where I work is in a Verizon dead zone. So is the park I go to at night to walk off the BS of the day. I drop calls all the time now, when I never did with AT&T. Even my wife drops calls on Verizon, when she did not on AT&T.

I also find that Verizon doesn't work for overseas travel. AT&T did, even if it was expensive.
