Best Multi-tool?

Another vote for the Spirit, and I'm going to order the "S" model as well soon. I grew to like my Swisstool more than my Wave, Core, or Surge, and the Spirit has far better ergonomic design in a smaller, lighter package. The one handed opening never did much for me, since I always reached for my primary knife first.

SOG powerlock, it's shweeeet!

hmm...can't decide between Leatherman Wave and Charge tti. Can pick up the Wave for like $60 on leathermans4less.com, $100 for the charge tti. I am looking to use the multi tool as my primary edc. I don't know if i can justify $40 more just for the SV30 blade (which I'll admit I am partial to.) and tittanium grips (who cares about this feature?) There seems to be a consensus on the wave. Also bear in mind that I am in the navy...so salt-water corrosion could be a factor.

nice site... (leatherman4less.com) any experience with them?

there is the new AL between them with the 154CM blade (like the old Ti)

I have a Charge Ti and LOVE it. I carry a Sebenza as well (which I am using more and more as my comfort level rises---ya know, first REAL knife, don't want to "hurt" it, bla, bla, bla.....but, I digress) Anyway, as a result, my Charge has also served as my "beater" knife. I just pull it out and hack and cut away. Like today, the bed of my truck was frozen solid with about 1 inch of ice. I did not want it to work lose on the highway and become a flying sheet of death, so I jumped in back and just stabbed the crap out of it with my Charge knife (could have, and have, used the plier tips for such tasks, which is another story). I broke up the ice and went about my day. Did not harm it one bit. Put it this way, I could almost....almost...get away with just carrying the Charge and no knife. Oh, and last year, I used a Charge to remodel my bathroom. Really abused it. Sent it to Leatherman for a "tune up." A week later, got a brand new Charge in the mail...at no "charge"!!!!:)
