Best New ZT

Agreed I have the 801 ,562 ,have had most of the lineup except for the new 2016 models . The 909 is on bearings so it's smooth as can be . Detent is spot on and it flips great . Liners are very thick .

I was thinking about the 0456 I keep seeing a minor flaw in it though or maybe it's just me. Seems like the angle of the blade from heel to tip along with the flipper tab would make the bottom say quarter of the edge hard to use on some things maybe it's just me though.

Is 0095bw an upgraded version of Kershaw Link? A side-by-side comparison picture would be helpful.

I've been looking at these since they came out and which does everyone think is the best flipper? Last I remember is the 801 probably had the smoothest flipper zt has put out, but I've been out of the loop for a while.

I agree on the flipping of the 801.. it is fabulous...

There are similarities; but there are more differences than just the name and blade steel. The 0095 is about 3/4" larger, overall.
Specs and images available on KAI's site

I zoomed in/out on a picture of the 0095BW until it was the same size on my screen and the Link I was holding up to it and they looked remarkably similar, although the link doesn't have that harpoon blade. The scale might be a bit off, but it looked like there was a lot of general overlap.

The 0450cf is an amazing knife. If you want a slim and trim slicer, it's your best bet. It's the best flipper I've owned.

Can you tell me if the 0450CF has an issues flipping with significant pressure on the lock bar? Sometimes my fingers get really dumb and that can be an issue.

For me, my fingers rest on the pocket clip. So, it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Likewise for me. If I shift my grip such that I do put pressure on the lockbar, I can still open the knife, but the detent is noticeably harder to overcome.

I just picked up a 0220 and I'm really digging it. I've owned a couple other ZT's and it has the same feel in the hand, i.e big, balanced, excellent fit and finish and the flipping action is super smooth. It's exactly what I expected while being a little outside of the box for a ZT knife. I purchased purely on aesthetics, mostly because this isn't going to be a hard user for me, someone mentioned before that of all the new releases this Is the most "gentleman folder" of the bunch and I have to agree. I'm not sure you can go wrong with any of the new releases, a lot of variety in the lot.

I'm going to vote for the 0220 - but because of just how darn smooth and fantastic the action is on it after I adjusted it to my liking.

I disassembled the knife, removed the lock bar insert, and adjusted the set point of the lock bar outward just a bit to reduce the detent strength and reduce the drag of the lock bar on the blade.

Now it flips as well or better than any knife I own (and I'm not exaggerating) and it falls shut under its own weight when the lock is released. It's a joy to flip and play with.

Just got my 804cf, Wow

I have a perfect 0452cf, 0562cf, 0561, 0801bw, and this one just edges them out. Can't wait till they come out with a Stone washed version..

Anyone with experience on 0804CF that they would care to share? Thanks!

I picked up a 0804CF along with a 0450CF. Both are excellent knives with some of the best QC I've seen from ZT. The 0804CF just feels awesome in my hand. I only wish there were Deep Pocket Clip options available for the 0804CF.

No idea what's best, but finally got a 456 in hand. What a smooth solid little sucker. :) Can't wait till I have the funds to try out the 804CF and 220.

I'm definitely fond of my 804CF, 0909, and 0095 although the 840 and 0909 might be my favorite ZTs to date.

Those of you that have the 0220, what is the thickness at the edge bevel? Very tempted by that model as I do like Jens designs a lot.
Thanks in advance,
G2

I ended up getting the special ZDP189 version of the ZT 0450 CF. I also got a Kershaw Link in S35VN with a blackwash blade, which is the poor man's cousin to the ZT 0095BW.
