Depends, but if your kitchen work involves mostly chopping things in half, I suggest the Cold Steel Espada Gigantor or whatever. Which reminds me, I haven't watched that really silly video in a while, I think I'll go do that now.

That said, when I'm in the kitchen I let my kitchen knives (a pile of inexpensively acquired Shuns) do what they're meant for.
 
Defineatly an Opinel. But generally whatever knife I have in my pocket or whatever knife is new and hasn't been tested yet is what I use.

I have an old Imperial hunting knife from the 70s that used to ride around on my belt but now has been used in the kitchen for the past 20 years for more delicate cutting chores.
 
My s90v millie works pretty well for random kitchen tasks; I brought it along on the last camping trip I took and used it for food prep. :thumbup:
 
As someone who cooks for a living I just cannot wrap my head around some of you guys using beckers in the kitchen. They are just far too thick to cut well.
