Best OH folders 2"-2.5" under $50 street

If you can stand blems then i would say either the baby boa or the scallion. both are assisted, but kershaw's torsion bars are really easy to get out if you have a t6 and t8 bit. both are, iirc, about 2.25 inches, and 25 bucks. why not buy both!!! :D

Edit: whoopsies. the baby boa is 440a, and the scallion is 420 hc. however, neither of those are that bad.....

I'd probably go with an OD-2 first. I really wish they'd make an OD-2 in Sandvik steel with a slight finger guard. Or just a shortened 2.5" blade Skyline. Or anything at all with a 2.5" blade in Sandvik steel, really. I love a lot of the Kershaws in 14c28n, but I can't legally carry any of them in 2 of the jurisdictions I frequent (Boston and some cities in Ohio.)

Having one of them cut down defeats the many purposes of carrying an inexpensive knife, too.

Hell, if they made a 2.5" Skyline and a 14c28n OD-2, I'd buy both and carry them at the same time in Boston.

Why don't you see if you can have it shipped to family in a less restrictive state, then have someone grind down the edge?it could work....

How about an older Spyderco Kiwi with the lock back.

I have a new Kiwi w/ stag handle and it is a slip joint, but it is really nice and in my opinion doesn't need the lock because of how the grip is designed. I picked it up for $35. It will be my knife for restrictive cities like Chicago.

The older kiwis in decent shape sell for allot more than $50

May I humbly suggest the subcom ti? Or any of the subcom varients? They feel and cut like much bigger knives and are within your size and weight requirements. Most have aus8 steel, which may or may not meet your needs, but the ti has 440c, plus its a titanium framelock for $35-40. I heartily recommend the whole family of them.

I think a great option for this category would be the Ka Bar Dozier Mini Folder, its right at 2.25" and in my experience the AUS 8 there using on this series in treated pretty well. Also, you can usually pick one up for around $15 Bucks. Either way a great value for the money.
