Best Opinel handle wood?

Just bought the plastic handled model. Seems wery strong. Whistle is wery loud.

Ebony... the steel is 12C27 (n° 8). I gifted it to an Opinel fan. If the guy I gave it to doesn't mess it up, it will outlive both of us. A real little big knife...

I like the olive wood handles but I am partial to beech... it is one of my favorite trees and I really like the ray fleck. Of course swelling is an issue but I'm used to the care and use of an Opinel now.
