Best or Favorite Multi Tool

I've carried my Leatherman Charge TTi everyday for going on 3 years now. Wouldn't be with out. Along with my Benchmade barrage.

My father bought me a Leatherman from Cabelas about 5 years ago. I don't know what model it is but it's rock solid and very handy.

Leatherman. I've carried a Wave for a few years. I'm trying a Supertool 300 right now and a Micra on my keychain, but I'm not sure I like that better. If I had a dishwasher, I wouldn't hesitate to put any of these all-metal tools through it.

Leatherman Wave or if you're also a gun guy, Leatherman MUT for the AR-15 platform.

Yes, both tools are a little heavy to carry as an EDC tool. but well made with replaceable parts as necessary.

I carry an SOG powerlock at work(tractor sales and repair) and use it all the time great tool. In my off time I carry a leatherman wingman which I have found to be a very useful tool In a compact package.

I own a handful of different Leatherman's and a few Gerber models but the Leatherman Rebar is my favorite. Its light enough to carry in a belt pouch without weighing you down. I used to carry the Pulse but its discontinued now and the Rebar in my opinion is the "new" version of that. I plan to purchase a Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit one of these days. They are a more "polished" multi-tool in my opinion. I love my other SAK's and I'm sure I will be as pleased with that model as well.

Leatherman Kick together with Victorinox Spartan Swiss Army Knife will handle most things without too much bulk or weight.;)

For 9 years I carried an original Super Tool plus Micra almost every day and was well satisfied with the combo. Then I switched to a Charge TTi and since I no longer needed the Micra scissors, carried a Vic Rambler instead for the supplementary tools. But I also have an ST 300, and when I go with that it's back to the Micra. I believe the Micra pairs up well with most scissorless multitools, and once in a while I carry it solo. Good little tool. I don't have a dishwasher, either, so I can't comment on how well it works with my Leathermen.

Several years ago I did evaluations of Swisstool, ST Spirit, Super Tool and Charge TTi. For weeks and months I carried one or the other, and when possible, two at a time for direct comparison. These trials lasted from summer to late winter, both indoor and out, for mechanical, home, yard and miscellaneous projects. My conclusion was that although the Vic products were beautifully designed and made, the Leathermen were overall better tools. Under cold, wet conditions, it was difficult to use the Swisstool nail nicks, especially with wet fingernails, while most Leatherman implements came out with no trouble at all. LT sharp cut screwdrivers were much superior to the Vics' over-polished ones. In one comparison I used a Swisstool to tighten a screw until it could go no further without slipping, then applied the Leatherman and got an additional 3/4 turn with no slippage at all. The OHO blades on the TTi were not only a real help when holding something in the other hand, but a safety issue when on a ladder. The true needle nose pliers on the Leathermen were also more versatile in my uses than the more blunt Vics and also open wider (although an issue only once, ever.) In the end, I sold off the Vics and stayed with the Leatherman products, no regrets.
That said, I love SAKs and have a long history with them. There are several in my rotation. When it comes to pliers based multi-tools, though, it's Leatherman for me.

The perfect Multi-tools is just like the perfect knife. It depends on what you plan on doing with it. This is apparent as I read the thread. I have owned many Gerber, Sog, and Leatherman models. My favorite all around (for the last few years) without a doubt would be the charge TTi. That being said I typically use the Leatherman MUT EOD tool most often due to my job. It has been a good fill in for my bulky demo gear since most of my work now is done from a ruck and not a truck.

I've been plenty happy with my leatherman rebar

Cabelas Leatherman Pulse which is no longer produced but was a birthday gift from my father 6 or 7 years ago.
