Best overbuilt knife for around $240

You might have a tough time finding an overbuilt knife under 5oz. As the word seems to imply "heavy".

Personally, I would eat the extra 2oz. and get a ZT 0200 or Benchmade Adamas.

+1 on the ZT0200. You will love it so much you won't care about 2oz.

If you search around, you can probably find a Grayman Dua in that range. S30V, 5oz, Ti/G10 and really thick blade stock.

I have a ZT561 and a Spyderco Southard. Quality on the Southard is fantastic and it's a flipper (the only one that Spydie makes so far), but it's not "big" if that's what you mean by overbuilt. The blade is a much better slicer than the ZT and it has that CTS-204P miracle steel. The ZT05xx knives are also incredible and are designed by Hinderer. Then there's the Emerson Roadhouse. How could you go wrong with that knife? Classic overbuilt hard use.

So many great knives people have posted my 2 cents ZT 0200 from knifeworks stone washed blade and Spyderco Manix 2XL can get both for that price of $240 good luck with your buying.

Unfortunately my favorite hard-use folder doesn't meet your requirements by about 2.7oz. That's too bad too!

So far nothing under 5 ounces comes close to hogue and still meets your 240. If you can find an ex-01 or 03 at a local dealer and get a feel for the knife it is amazing.

the ex-01 is 5.8 ounces the ones with the frn handles are 4.8 unless you get the shorter blaed ones. The ex-01 might just be the next knife I get to bad its not cpm-m4 it really blows s30v out of the water. Way tougher holds an edge noticbly longer but its not as rust proof.

If you are looking for a hard use folder, I would recommend anything with a Cold Steel Triad Lock, Spyderco Caged Ball Lock, a Hogue button lock, a Benchmade Axis Lock or a lockback before I would recommend a titanium framelock.

THIS ONE and as everyone else has said, Kershawguy has some good prices.
