Looking for some lightweight but strong compression bags.

Best place to get 'em?.....?!?

Dan

If you are referring to compression sacks for sleeping bags and such, I can recommend Outdoor Research. They carry different models that vary in weight and size. Granite Gear also makes really good ones too. Cabelas makes a coated nylon compression bag that is by far the toughest I've seen but it is heavy because of the materials used.

Check out www.campmor.com or www.rei.com

If you still have a hard time finding them, let me know and I'll point you in another direction.

I've got one for each of my sleeping bags from MEC, I have the MEC/Serratus branded compression sacks, but a quick search on their website and I don't see them. It looks like they are selling the Outdoor Research models now, either that or they just are not on the website (they carry quite a lot more in the store than shows up on the website), a quick call would sort that out.

It's hard to go wrong with Outdoor Research products in any case.

Here is the MEC sack with my winter bag (Marmot Snow Goose), it sure does a great job at making it small !

I have a few of the Campmor compressions sacks. I was originally worried about their quality (after buying one from target which broke in about 30 seconds). But they are very nice. I also have some compression sacks that came with some North Face sleeping bags, and the Campmor ones are just as good.

I was using the Campmor one for an old, very uncompressable sleeping bag that was a pain to pack. I tightened it down as hard as I could, and it has made it through several rough trips.

Tell you what Dan, I'll trade you my Campmor compression sack for a Bushcraft?! I'll hand deliver it to the shop too!

20% off at Campsaver.com ends tomorrow. Free shipping on orders over $50. They ship pretty quick and have great email communications so you know when your order ships, etc.

Just putting a great Canadian company out there- Integral Designs.
Super duper lightweight stuff which is very well designed using state of the art fabrics and made in Canada.
They offer some great compression sacks for sure, among other things.

Salvation Army/Goodwill/similar stores. Best time is right after the kids go off to college in the fall.
