Best place to buy buck 110? Amazon vs Buck

Hello newknife1
There are better places to get real Buck knives, they have dealers now where the prices are half of what you would pay straight from Buck. One is Copper and Clad and another is SKBlades. I don't know about Amazon but stay away from e-bay they have many overseas knock-offs that are really close to the genuine Buck. I really don't know why the price is high direct from Buck almost double. These 2 are reasonable genuine Buck sellers. One thing I have noticed SKBlades has " The Boneyard " which has what I believe to be as "blemished" knives and the selection is minimal on overall Buck knives.

The lowest prices I've heard so far has been wally world. $17-25 on clearance for the 110 in the gift tin.

Copper and Clad is a great seller. They have limited runs too.. The prices are excellent as well.

Most manufactures sell at MSRP on their websites not just Buck. Think about it. If you could buy a knife from the manufacturer for the same price or lower than from a dealer then who would want to be a dealer.

In DFW some big box stores have the 110's priced well below retail, and that isn't even marked as clearance. It's been that way for months. One place has the nylon sheath and another sells the 110 with the leather sheath. I have one of each.

[edit] I meant to add that these are in store stock, not online. Hopefully you one of these stores close to you.

In DFW all of the Walmart and Academy stores have the 110's priced below $30, and that isn't even marked as clearance. It's been that way for months. The ones from Walmart have the nylon sheath and the ones from Academy come with the leather sheath. I have one of each.

I edited my previous post as it may have been confusing. What I'm trying to convey is that it you buy a knife directly from Buck or BM or most other manufacturers off their website it will usually be at the full retail/MSRP. If you could buy the same knife directly from Buck for the same price that you pay at a store like Walmart it would make no sense for those stores to sell Buck knives. They would be competing against the manufacturer for sales. That's why the price direct from Buck is so much higher.

Yeah. I understood your post. I was in a hurry and shouldn't have quoted you. I was just trying to answer the original post about where to buy a 110.

Careful here gang.... DEAL SPOTTING is not permitted (forum rules). Copper & Clad and SK Blades are registered forum Dealer/Members. Wally World is not.

Wally has them for $28 which is within $5 of what I paid 40 years ago.

Michael, the bay has thousands of genuine Buck knives. You have purchased many yourself. Some of the things I have been reading lately that you have posted point out that most Buck knives sold on the bay are fake. Both copper and clad and SK both sell on ebay as well along with many others including forum members as well. Joe hauser has done a great job on the war on copy cat knives. The Phrobis rant that went on..... They are Genuine Buck knives. If the scales dont match the blade year and Phrobis is stamped somewhere on the knife doesnt indicate its a fake but more than likely a build out. Which is a product fully covered under Buck Warranty.

We need to advise what to look for not where to buy.

Thank you Desoto for the nudge and correction on Deal Spotting. I'm new here and learning the rules. I find the experienced people and information in this forum valuable, and I definitely want to use it appropriately. I saw this thread with prices and jumped on the bandwagon without thinking. Not an excuse.

For future reference is it Ok to mention retail stores without naming prices or price ranges, or is it best practice not to mention store names at all - other than Dealer/Members? I looked at the FAQ, and it isn't quite clear to me.

From the FAQ: [No deal spotting
Yes, we know you found a great price on the Ninja Disembowel 4000 at SuperPriceMART. We don't care. We'd prefer you support the dealers who support BladeForums.com. As such, we don't allow deal spotting because otherwise the forums would be a quagmire of "deals" (real or imagined) posted everywhere, or unscrupulous people posting "deals" for non paying dealers. So don't do it. ]

Thanks.

###### has the Buck 110 for 27.99 with a leather sheath. I had to edit my post, I forgot I couldn't mention retailers.

Makael I have original 560/186 titanium knives with the dolphin stamp. These new bladed stamped knives are taking away from the value of the original. I believe that you showed some of these newer bladed knives and I felt that They are taking away from the original Phrobis 560 bladed take apart and 560 riveted knives.
I have stayed away from Ebay because the whole first page of knives are ads from Copper and Clad, I go through all the pages and see the same knives two or three times. I see that there are reproductions of 110's because the wording is not spelled correctly. It never was that way. As I have stated I have gotten away from wood handled knives and purchase stone handled knives. I have read that Buck is actually having knives made in China or should I say overseas. They are the ones that provide the lifetime warranty so if the foreign knives are substandard, Bucks is still obliged to repair a foreign knife. I have as of yesterday corresponded with Joe Houser as to the dolphin on newer knives and his reply after I stated that they are devaluing my originals. He said that it was a thing that he wishes never shoud have happened. I explained to him and asked that he stop the processes. FYI!

Tell me how a original Buck knife value can be affected by a legitimate build out knife. An original will always have more value than a build out. NO QUESTION. What is all of this negativity all about lately? We all have knives we love.

Jeff Hubbard has been awesome. It's one of our connections with the factory. His word should be respected.
