I have about 4 knives that I need hardened on a short notice and I do not have time to make more blades and pay bulk prices. The blades are 1095. I was wondering if there was someone who would do it without me having to take the loss on paying bulk heat treatment rates. Thanks in advance.

I think Texas Knife only does air cooled steels, so 1095 would be a no-go for them.

Peters possibly? Unless you do a quicky forge and DIY

I just did my first three at tru-grit. Lightning fast turnaround. Jeff (their heat treater) is a nice guy and seems knowledgable. I don't know enough about heat treating to make any judgement other than my impressions so far dealing with them.

He said that small batches are very common for them, although they also do larger batches. He said some guys bring in single knives and some bring in dozens.

I'm not sure that I should discuss pricing other than to say that I feel it is very fair for customers of all sizes. In regards to the comment above, I believe they do a wide variety of knife steels.
