I am fairly new to the forum and was wondering where the best places to purchase all of the accesories needed to do sharpening on a 1x30" belt sander would be. I need to get all of the accesories via the internet as I am in Hawaii and am having difficulty finding the necessary equipment here.

I think the guys in Shop Talk can help you with that. :)

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

When dealing with knife supplies by mail, it is best to get a couple of supply catalogs. They carry most all the supplies and materials you will need.Ordering a box full of needed stuff from one place saves on shipping when it has to go to Hawaii.
Texas Knife Supply
Jantz Knife Supply
K&G (knife and gun supply)
Pop's Supply
Sheffield Knife Supply

For belts only try :
Klingspor
Trugrit

I have to agree with Stacy in regards to shipping and living in Hawaii, "get everything you can from one place to save on shipping".

I have purchased supplies from every vendor Stacy mentioned. If I had to pick only one it would be Sheffield knife Supply. Hands down, they have a better selection of everything a guy needs to make knives and a bunch of things you'll find nowhere else IMHO. Prices are pretty darn good too. Granted you may be able to shop around and find a better price on this or that. In the end, you'll shoot yourself in the foot when it comes to shipping from 5 different suppliers. They have an excellent catalog jam packed with everything you'll need at this point in time. Check-em-out at http://www.sheffieldsupply.com/ The online catalog is there for you but the hard copy is much easier to search for supplies IMHO.

belts for the Sander I would go to E-Bay or supergrit.com. everything else use the knife supply sites lised above.

also adding alpha knife supply to the list above
