Best Plastic .45 ACP??

I understand the "larger bullet is better" view.

I think the .40 is a very good answer to the "caliber / capacity" question.

But for me, if I wanted to carry a compact .45, I'd choose the G30 over the G36. In the right holster, it carries just as well and can have a 13 rd reload if desired.

If I weren't set in my ways or if I were starting over I'd definitely go with the .40. It is a great compromise between capacity and power. Unfortunately it wasn't an option for me when I bought my carry guns.

Those baby Glocks are great little guns. They just don't feel right to me.

When I retire I'll probably start carrying a 9mm at some point just to size down but for now I'm much more comfortable with my .45.

I put the plus 2 extension grips on my magazines for my G36. 9 shots still falls short of most I guess but for me it works fine. If I want capacity I have a G17 with 17 round clips for 17 plus 1 capacity to double the 45 and I found one 30 round clip for my G17 at a local pawn shop a few years back for 31 rounds if I need a small arsenal or just want to have some fun plinking without having to stop to reload as often but right now those are the only two good semi autos I own in real performers.

Well, I do have a SeaCamp 32 Auto that I like but its not exactly the 45 cal. ;) Of course these days most of my plinking is done with the 22 LRs but for my preferred concealed carry pistol I always preferred the 45 cal. I had one of those CAT45s by Intratec for years and I liked a whole lot about that gun but sometimes the firing pin didn't hit hard enough and you had to pull the trigger twice to fire off a round. That I didn't care for but I did like the double action trigger. However I did find that I could pull the coil spring out and stretch it out some and on the one that I did that on to increase the snap of the firing pin it never happened again. I ended up owning three of those actually. In many ways I wish I still have one. You don't see them very often these days.

i have a glock +2 on my 33 & 26, 11(+1) rounds in the 33 of .357SIG and 12 (+1) 9MM in the 26, a lot of ammo in such a small package.

i tried several non glock +2 floorplates and they ended up being a "+1" on the .40/.357SIG's lol.
