Best Production Folder Value for EDC

Chad,

It's all good, just one question though.
How can you be a knife guy and not be a collector? It's soo irresistable :) :) :)

Well I have accumulated a few, but I only keep the ones I use. I have moved probably 15 times in the last ten years, and when I was a kid (like 30 years ago) my father was an Army Officer, so we moved a lot.
As a result of a life on the move I have come to value minimalism. If I can't fit it in a single car load, I don't need it.
Since I have a small library of books, that doesn't leave a lot of room knives, tv sets, stereo equipment, etc.

It probably explains why I value one great folder over a slew of good ones.

Take care,
Chad

I currently have 4 "carryable" knives... from a cheapo Vapor to a moderately (to some - Very to me!) expensive Gerber Covert AF.
Also a CKRT M-16 03Z, and a BM 350BT.

This morning, I put each in my usual carry place - the back of my right front pocket - and tried for feel and for getting my keys in and out (jeans).

Guess what's in my pocket right now?

Cheapo Vapor! The thing is smooth, tight, and sliced through some 3/8" fuel line earlier like a razor blade.:D

If a Chris Reeve Sebenza is 15 times better than this, I would be amazed. This defines me as A: Cheap ;) and B: Not afraid of carrying something different on any given day.

If this hurts anyones feelings, I'm sorry. But I kinda agree with "Live and Let Live".:D

1SKS had the Vapor II (3.56" blade) for under $30 and according to Kershaw's site the blade is AUSA6A and the handle is 410 stainless. Both the Vapor and Camillus's EDC (especially in 154-CM) look like awesome values. Still, after spending way too much time here, I'm leaning toward an Axis-lock in the $100 to $120 range--probably a 710HS or an 806D2.
