Unlike the Bowie knife, most knife guys can agree upon a general design for the "Kephart". I know most makers do some variance, but what are the best production versions? By best I mean of course the most refined design, nicest materials, and which one is just generally most usable. Thanks!

I wouldn't say "most refined" or "nicest", but I have an L.T. Wright Genesis, pretty much a Kephart made from A2 with micarta scales. I think its a fine knife. Super sturdy, nice sheath, mine has a scandi edge, but they make a sabre grind too... I love it, take it camping down here in the swamp...

Im looking at the Next Gen, basically the smaller version. That's what got me wondering about other production models, seems like be very one has it some way or another

The Next Gen is really nice too. I almost bought one. I think the Genesis is more versatile though... Though not a Kephart, look at the GNS. I think it's a great outdoorsman's knife also..
