Best production slip joint company

This maybe true, in regards to fit and finish. The Case/Bose collabs use higher end materials. The fact that the patterns are specifically made for the run by Mr. Bose himself adds to their collectibility, and obviously their price. In this case (no pun intended) you do get what you pay for.

I would say that the collectability and the limited run would be the biggest factor. Queen has used ATS-34 like in the Case/Bose knives. I wouldnt call that exotic since one hand openers of medium quality routinely use that steel. Also note that many of GECs patterns are 1 of 50 series. I have a couple. Thats a REALLY limited run!

Well my weaver jack showed up today and it's a beautiful knife. Haven't been able to find a flaw in the workmanship. Only downside is when using the two other blades the Sheep's foot/hawkbill sticking up makes the handle a bit uncomfortable. But I'm willing to deal considering the added utility of the other blades. It came moderately sharp. Definitely serviceable but I like scary sharp so I dressed it and stropped now it's like a straight razor. I'm very pleased with this knife and will definitely get a few more gecs

Brownshoe....are you saying the Case/Bose line is good or bad? I couldn't tell and would like your opinion as I just ordered the Case/Bose Muskrat Damascus one for 399.99. Never owned one before but expecting a great knife ........

I can't speak for Brownshoe, but I'll be really surprised if you don't love that knife.

It's interesting for me to read all the back and forth on the various models. Being a Buck collector you would think I would be a flag waver for them and do it now again a small amount. But I do not own a single GEC but stop at their small, in the corner booth at the blade show and look at some really nice knives. Case/Bose are nice looking also. Canal Street looks like they do a good job also. I recommend you look those over carefully along with a Buck or two...Ha

My real recommendation, get one that you personally handle and like, after that handle a few more others and get those that you like. If you need more than one of a certain company then there you go. I even like old TL29s, go figure. No matter who makes it, stag always pulls my string the hardest.

In my experience, the fit and finish of the GEC brands are tops right now. Queen, and S&M are not in the same class. I hope they keep working on the gaps, wiggle, and fit issues, because in the fluff and buff department they are great.

I don't have tons. Just enough experience to let me know I want to handle any knife I buy from them first.

The Case/Bose should be a bit nicer than the GEC's, but the price is significanlty higher, often double, so that is to be expected. My one issue with Case/Bose, is that they are in custom territory. You can buy customs for less, and for a few bucks more, you can buy fantastic customs!

I like the Case/Bose. I have 4. Bought my first for $200 (Yukon Jack) at a gun show and fell in love with the workmanship and design...just not so much the orange bone :). I've bought the rest by waiting until the price goes down and paid around $300 a piece for the others. My favorite is the Tribal Spear in ebony.

Vance has showed you that they are not perfect, but then it took about a 5x enlargement to show the off-center. Betcha it does not rub the liners :)

I had an AK hunter that the ebony pulled away from the liners like that one. I use my knives and the ebony pulled away after use on a long hot day in the kitchen when the knife was accidentally sitting in standing water more than once. I sent it back and it was fixed by Case. They returned it by expedited shipping. I've used it since with no problems.
