Best rust proof coating ???

I wanted to get your input on the best coatings for protecting you knives against rust. Im looking for permanent coatings (blueing, epoxy coating, powder coating, etc) NOT temporary coatings (oil, wax, tuff cloth, etc).

Also is there a coating that is clear?
 
Microtech used a clear coating before to the best of my knowledge. Maybe a Microholic can help you out there. I heard that Mad Dog's hard chrome worked pretty well as a coating. So far, my best experiences have been with an EDI Genesis's black-Ti coating. Doesn't wear as fast as teflon based black coatings (Black-T, and BT2 which kind of sucks). Of course it doesn't feel as rich or smooth as the teflon based ones.
