What are your favorite Swiss Army Knife models & why?

I'm just looking for opinions. There is no wrong answer.

I'm thinking about getting the one with the altimeter & thermometer built into it,just because I like knives & gadgets. This has both in one.:D:thumbup:
Altimeter :

For everyday use I EDC the Sportsman or Ambassador. The bottom line is what works best for you.

I guess my favorite would be the Swiss Champ, but it's so damn big. I EDC a Hiker, it's cheap and has everything I need.

Almost forgot, another favorite is my Wenger with the cigar cutter. One of the best cutters out there, at any price.

Thanks for the great suggestions;)I didn't realize just how many models there are(supposedly hundreds?)
Keep'em coming!

What would the main uses be?Besides cutting of course.;)I have the Swiss Champ and like it.Damn near everything you can think of.

Hiker or Fieldmaster for hiking, camping, etc. They have a wood saw and a few other tools I might need in the wilderness, without being too big, complex, or heavy.

I used to have a pocket pal on my keychain. It got lost the last time I moved. That little knife has seen more use than any other knife I ever owned.SAK's are so handy & non-threatening(sheeple-friendly:D).

edited to add..I should've named this favorite SAK not best

I love the Fieldmaster but everyone is raving about the Farmer. It seems a little less blades and thicker aluminum scales. I will try one soon.

My favorite is the Alox Soldier. I like the tools that it has on it, and I find it to be most useful to me.

the one i carry everyday...my swisscard !
It's amazing how it could be usefull, especially the small pen.

Otherwise, i particulary like the Spirit plus swisstool, or the electrician.

These would be my big four in SAK-world:

1. Indoors - Super Tinker (love those scissors!)
2. Outdoors - Alox Farmer (love that saw and the beefy blade).
3. When weight is important such as dress pants or shorts - Alox Cadet
4. A must have on the keyring - Classic SD

The modern "NewRanger" series from Wenger is interesting. A bit bigger than most SAKs, and some offer one-hand opening for the main blade. Here's the Newranger 57 Hunter:
