A couple of months of browsing the net has led me to a few sites with a good selection of custom knives by a variety of makers. These are knife dealers who list knives by a variety of makers. These are sites I try to check every day to see what's new.
Here are my everyday sites:
http://www.knifeart.com/knifeart/index.html http://www.arizonacustomknives.com/custommakerlist.html http://www.redcanyonknives.com/index.cfm http://www.bladegallery.com/ http://agrussell.com/index.html

My question for other's with more experience is which sites have I missed?

Randall Made knives Orlando FL... Can't remember their OnLine Address, but they are online

OK- I guess when you type in a web address they come out as those blue letters automatically. Modern Technology... totally idiot-proof.

doubt that all of the above are great sites. Arizona Custom Knives and Les Robertson always have a great selection. www.confederatecutlery.com now deals in custom knives and they seem to be getting more in on a regular basis.

Davy, sadly the sites you mentioned and Robertson's are the only ones I have found carrying customs that are worth checking for updates. I, for one need MUCH, MUCH more

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

Just something to consider. As custom knives gain in popularity, dealers of other items (guns, sporting goods, etc.) will jump on the band wagon and start to carry custom knives.

The questions you should be asking yourself is this.

How old is this knife.

Did it come directly from the maker.

What is the warranty on this knife.

Does the dealer know the maker personally and can he get the knife fixed for me if something does go wrong.

Is the price the same as the maker, and if not how much of a premium does the dealer have on the knife.

Will the dealer take the knife back in on trade down the road. If so will he give me 100% of what I paid (as long as the knife is returned in mint condition) in trade towards a more expensive custom knife.

Also, remember under the Consumer Protection Act, you have 3 business days to consider any purchase bought where it has to be shipped to you. At the end of those 3 days you must notify the seller of your intent to return the item. Some sellers will require you to have some type of authorization (most times refered to as a RMA). Keep a record of the conversation (dates and times) until you receive your refund. Using a credit card is best for any item purchased like this as it gives you additional recourse to gaining a refund.

Also, there is no such thing as a "restocking fee". This is meerly an attempt for less than honorable business to gain the profit they would have made off of your purchase.

As for dealers sites of custom knives, my apologies to Gary Levine. Gary has an excellent web site with all custom knives.
Gary if you are out there post your web site URL.

By the way: www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com was updated on 4/19/00.

Hey, Les. I have Gary in my list of links. Great points. You, among others, have an excellent reputation and an outstanding knowledge base. It is fun to window shop though, and a lot of these sites have interesting pics. On top of that, participants in the forums, such as yourself, get a leg up on the internet-savvy knife-knuts. Some of these businesses should learn from the example.

They remind me to work hard to earn all the money to spent on these fine knives.
