Best sleeper folder deal for under $70

Might as well just bite the bullet and get a small Sebenza. You will never look back.

really man? i ask for folder under $70 and you a knife that is about 4 times my price ceiling? lol, some people just want to get their post count up. right now i'm torn between the BM 530 and the Kershaw leek composite.

Gentlemen, linking to a product at a dealer who is not a paid Bladeforums dealer is ... (( deal-spotting )). You may recommend a knife, but do not recommend a dealer unless they are one of ours.

For the last few months I’ve been carrying the Benchmade Mini-Griptilian Tanto. It’s a darn good knife for the money. Axis Lock, dual thumb studs, 154CM and easy to sharpen.

Been looking at the Kershaw Crown and the CRKT Tribute, myself. Both with micarta handles and each around $30 or so. There doesn't seem to be much info to be had on either of these though...

Edit: Sorry, I've overlooked the OP's criteria "the country of origin not be China or Taiwan." I'd recommend the Spyderco Dragonfly 2...

Case Sway Back Jack by Tony Bose. Possibly the nicest traditional pocket knife you can buy short of spending several hundreds or even thousands on a custom.

For gentleman's knives that won't rip up your pants, look at the Kershaw Leek composite blade, Al Mar Falcon ultralight, the less expensive Mcusta's, and Spyderco Centofante 3.

Composite blade leek...OUTSTANDING!!

Well, there is always the Buck 347 Vantage Pro in S30V. A check of the 'amazing' listings revealled a source - SMKW - you can order it through them - and use your credit - $55 + $7.50 s/h.

The Buck 172 Mayo TNT, in Ti & S30V, is twice your limit or more - if you can find one. The 347 Vantage Pro has essentially the same blade - with a flipper, too. Mine is an early one - and still perfect. The CNC-contoured black G10 scales are slick enough not to wear your pocket - the grooves help break that up enough to give a good grip, too. As in all of my clip equipped knives, said clip is in the box. You do have a LH/RH tip-up choice, if the clip is important. Keeper - and that from a fellow ZT 301 lover!

Another vote for the Buck Vantage Pro. Great knife for the money.

Only thing is, the large version might be a wiska' big for dress pant carry.

But that would be up to you.

Spyderco Tenacious. For $35 they are a steal. I slip mine into the coin pocket on the right hand front pants pocket and you can't see or feel it.

Spyderco has a lot of models that would be nice - Centofante 3, Native Lightweight, Delica 4, Delica 4 FFG, Salt 1, Dragonfly. Kershaw options I haven't seen mentioned are the Zing & Blur, and for Benchmade, the Mini-Griptillian, if you can find one at your price level.

mcusta folders are really nice for the price point. but beware that most of the models with vg10 steel does not have pocket clip. pocket clip only comes in the Damascus steel mcustas.

Amazon has plenty of knives....

Here's a sample of some of the smaller Kershaw knives they carry

Leek - reg model $40
Scallion - $32
Zing - $27
Baby Boa $41

The composite Leek comes in under $70 as well, and is gorgeous to boot.

hey guys thanks for all of the great suggestions but i think i'm just going to sharpen and use my CRKT ichi for the office role and get a Fixed blade knife in the $50-$75 range just for kicks. i started a thread about it if you're feeling helpful.
