I hear ya...and you're not alone. All my tools fit on a 24"x36" table (or in a tool chest). I'm not even sure where I'll put my drill press when it gets here?

Mike - it's cool, bro. no offense intended.

Hey Mike, I knew what you meant :D

There are good and bad with all those brands of tools. I had a Central Machinery 64" horz/vert bandsaw that I probably cut 5000 blades out with. It finally died a quiet death last year and I replaced it with a Dake. Now I have to stand up and saw.
My drill presses, mill, & lathe are Enco brand and they have held up well. Never had a problem with Enco or MSC, especially now that they are part of the same company.

Mike - what's wrong about induction speed control?

Thanks,

Joss, of the ones I have used over the years, usually as presents, they didn't have the torque of a single speed(regular) motor, and they were very loud. None of them lasted very long. The bandsaw was the first to go, couldn't even cut hardwoods for handle material. Fortunately, they were purchased from Sears, by my wife, and I was able to get a refunds on them as they bit the dust.
I am only talking of induction motors here, not DC variable speed motors and controls, or AC VFD motors and controls.
My wife(bless her heart) no longer surprises me with tool presents. ;) :D
