Hi all,

I've been out of the game for a while, but now I'm back in search of creative ways to waste my paycheck :D

I really like the look of the ZT Sinkevich collabs and since I usually carry smaller knives that leaves the 0450 and 0460. I'd probably go with the ti models even though in general I think it is overkill to have both scales metal. I just don't like CF very much.

Has anybody had a chance to compare the two side-by-side? They seem very similar in terms size and weight but I'm curious how they handle in the real world. I'm leaning towards the 0460 because it looks like it will make a better slicer and I tend to prefer thin and slicey grinds.

My current favorite knives are Spyderco Caly 3.5, BM 940 (although I wish it sliced better), and Ritter mini grip , so I guess I'm hoping for whichever ZT is closest to those.

What say you, Bladeforums? Anybody had a chance to compare these two?

EDIT:
Added the 0470 and a poll

I like the 450 better. I like the blade and handle shape of the 450 much better then the 460. The 460s sword like blade might be more distinctive but I guess I'm more of a traditionalist (ie. old). The angle of the 460 handle is a little more odd then the 450s too imo. 450 feels better in my hand. YMMV.

IMO, 0450 all the way. The 0460 costs >$30 more, apparently for those fashionista Persian-type lines. I just don’t see it. The action on my 0450 is close to if not the best out of a dozen flippers that I own. For a small, perfect for discreet concealed carry flipper I don’t think it could be improved.

I've never handled the 0460 but not a huge fan of the blade shape.

I do love my 0450cf, it's a great flipper, it's lightweight, small and gorgeous. I really like the CF scales with the black blade.

0470 is better than both....combined. I'd look into that one if you haven't already. It's also a sinkevich design.

IMO, the best mini Sinkevich is the Kershaw Concierge. I like the 0450 and 0460, but the Concierge feels like the mini 0454 that the 0450 was meant to be. It sadly only comes in a Kershaw/Chineseium configuration, but it's a great little knife. My 0450cfzdp has better materials, but the Concierge feels a lot nicer in hand.

I'm not sure the 0460 would work in my hand; but I've tried the 0450 & didn't like it... so I'd give the 0460 a shot.

Wow. I had totally missed the 0470 before. It is more expensive, bigger, and has unavoidable cf, but I'm still considering it. It has the distinctive Sinkevich look without being quite as zany as the 0460.

Why does ZT have to compete with themselves so much? Then there's the 0609 as well. I do like RJ Martin designs. And of course I like the BM Bugout, Spyderco Mantra 3 and Kapara, the aforementioned Kershaws look nice... there's just too much good stuff recently.

Had the 0460, hated it. Wasn't a fan of the blade shape or anything else about it. Still have an 0450 and IMO its way better than the 0460. Like the 0450 a lot.

No experience with the 0470.

470 for me. 470 is not susceptible to lockbar pressure like my 450 was, the ergos are far better, and I think it just looks better with the inlay. Also, I could flip the 470 all day hundreds of times and have no discomfort, whereas, my 450 flipper tab was so thin that it dug imto my finger after awhile. But I’m a fidgeter and most won’t suffer that who just use their knives.

I love my little 450, probably one of the best actions of all the little flippers I have. Probably has to do with the weight of the blade. I have the cf version so I can't speak on the ti version but I love that little knife. I prefer a 3.5-3.7" blade usually but the 3.25" works quite well

Owned the 450, 460 and 470. Only kept the 470 because IMO it has the best look and feel in hand, and the most useful blade shape. However, among the three its flipping action is softer and not quite as snappy as I would like. It's probably the least exciting or dynamic flipper among the nine ZTs in my collection. For a company that built itself for making some of the best production flippers in the industry that was kind of a let down. The 470 still flips OK, at least it's not a dog, but it definitely could have been better. In the end the very useful blade shape won me over.
