Just wondering what everyone considered to be their personal favorite for best all around survival knife :o

Good answer. Any decent fixed or folder will get the job done. Add a Light weight Hatchet and any knife will do. I f you have a Hatchet and knife and loose one you can still pull through. There really is no best knife. Ask 100 guys and get at least a 100 answers.

I carry a gerber lmf II a.s.e.k.or tactical knife but I also carry a 750 layer damascus bowie. Both a great for the outdoors and survival.

Being a folder fanatic I'd have to say that my emerson commander has seen the most edc time out of all my knives. Next would be my benchmade griptilian and then my buck 110 and buck bantam 286.

Get ready to read a lot!!! In about 24 hours you'll have about 5-6 pages of all sorts of knives, and since this is the W&SS forum, about 90% are going to be fixed blades ;).

Raw,

There is 6 months of reading research for you in this forums history.

At the end of the day you pick a survival philosophy then buy a knife to accomplish it.

Then pray you chose correct on both counts.

I am still waiting on the F1, so I guess it's my one hand trekker ot my farmer, not to mention the moras.
Magnum22, how do you like the buck strider? I have the tarani model, I love it but it's for trade in the exchange forums, I like smaller folders for EDC.
The grip doesn't look comfy, but it is one of the best feeling in the hand knives I have come across.

Like your new knife Pitdog!
