Best Sypderco folder for under $50

I should also mention that my preferences favor performance far above aesthetics, and it'll get used for a variety of tasks, from cutting rope, boxes, and other softer materials, to general hiking/camping uses.

Unless you buy used the only one that comes to mind at present is the C122 Tenacious .
It is a very well made knife & can be had in pe ,ce & fully serrated!
I have one of each & like them alot!
Just my opinion, try handling one to see if it fits the bill.
regards,Rick.

$40 will get you a Walmart Native. $50-55 will get you a Delica, or an Endura, if you prefer a larger blade. If you don't mind made in China, the Tenacious is a great value at a little over $30.

Wow , that's good prices !
Here in Canada Walmart doesn't carry spyderco & the delica & enduras run $60-$65 at the cheapest place (mailorder) up here!
Hey Tom would you consider shipping to Canada?
regards,Rick.

I would say the S30V Native. Or the G10 Cara Cara, if you don't mind Byrd instead. I haven't gotten a Tenacious yet, so I can't offer an opinion on that one.

Delica - New Graham lists them at just under $50.

Runners up - Stainless Steel Dragonfly, same price as the Delica.
S30V Native - great steel in an inexpensive package.

+1 on the Delica...readily findable under $50 and a geat knife!

Ray :)

For under $50, you can't go wrong with the Native from Wal-Mart. Add a few bucks and you can pick up the Delica with wave which is definitely worth the small price difference IMHO.

Try buying Spydies in Australia, my first knife was a Native in S30V for a mind-blowing $135.00 of our dollars, approx USD$120......!!!

I now buy thru NGK, Spydercovt or the Knife Center depending on what I am after.............;)

Depends on your tastes and handedness. If you're right handed, don't mind knives without 50/50 choils, and don't have a prejudice against liner locks, the Tenacious unquestionably offers the "biggest bang for the buck". Otherwise, the S30V Native would be your best bet.

The new delica4 with black combo edge for about $45 is a sweet deal. The native is also sweet for about the same price. I have both and I think they are great little knives. I carry one or the other clipped in my back pocket in uniform. And I carry the d4in my running shorts during my morning runs. The combo edge on that size knife is great, the serrations make up for the shorter length.

Wait a little and get an SE Delica 4. Spyderedge!!!

Then when you get hooked, grab an etched Cricket and carry them both. What a combo..

I've carried one or the other of these two first generation delicas for 15 years. They're absolutely bulletproof. I'll vote for the delica as one of the finest edc "user" folders ever made.....and you can still get it for 50 bucks.
