Best Tool For The Bush

Payette,

thats the over all consensus I've come to know. The CS had a horrendous edge, actually, there was no edge at all, I had to take it to a belt sander after buying it. I've seen a few rehandled that have a decent look to them, but I payed $15 bucks for it, so I can't really judge it.

BTW, the Kershaw looks sweet... :D

My body is tingling for that entire Heavy Duty series. It's a father-son night in the shop, Dad is downstairs refurbishing a 1992 World Championship rider's personal mountain bike while I reprofile the tang and shape out some scales for a 12 inch CS Seax. Maple scales with walnut bolsters. If they turn out less than perfect, I'll wind up doing a leather wrap over them and probably a jute turkish knot at the hilt. Blade looks great stripped, underneath the finish the metal has a gunmetal color even patina throughout. Before the scales go on I may have to do some kind of cool nordic etch along the blade or on the spine. Both of the Seaxes I got from Cold Steel have definite user edges on 'em, and they are well applied. I paid ten dollars apiece for those guys too, so like you said, you can't really complain about the handle.

That my friend would be bitchin'...
