Just as a reference, I measured my GEC #68 main spear blade and it seems to the maximum allowed size in both length and width.

Anyone know the width on a mini peasant knife? I know the length is about a centimeter long but that wouldn't take long to fix. I'm sure the width is over .5 inches I'm just wondering how much work would be needed on one of these.

If you measure from the bolster as required, not simply the sharpened edge, it is too long to comply:
It's just at 1/2" wide (I wouldn't want to leave it up to anyone's best guesstimate!), but is clearly too long, at roughly 64-65mm (my pictures showing it at closer to 63mm notwithstanding-- perspective is a funny thing, through the lens):

Unless someone's shortened his or hers. ;)

This has all died down for a few weeks. Anyone know if there is a list compiled somewhere that shows all pertinent laws on the matter for each state?

Even if there is, I personally wouldn't trust only one reference. It's next to impossible for any one list to keep up with all states. Weapons laws are changing all the time (state, local, federal, etc.), so the best bet is to go to the legislative (.gov) sites for each state of particular interest and start searching the criminal code there. Don't forget to look for more restrictive laws in local ordinances as well, especially in more urban locations (look at city & county official government sites). Might be links to local restrictions in the sites for individual airports as well, but that's not guaranteed.

There are some quick-reference sites on knife laws on the web and elsewhere (books, etc.), but it's not hard to find some very outdated info in them. If it comes down to it, none of those sites or quick references would be valid or admissible in a court case, if attempting to rely on them for guidance.

The just confiscated my SAK in Boston tonight. Said the new rules don't kick in for a couple weeks. Pissed me off.

I'm flying out to Oregon this July for a vacation on the Rogue River. I'd love to take my peanut or Patadese with me as there will be fishing, but I just don't trust the TSA yet. I'll take a small SAK with me, just in case.
