Best value in a high-end production or custom knife?

The Customs will win out just on steel and HT alone.

Not taking anything away from CR, but they are Production knives and S30V.

I would think you could get a much better custom knife for $400. :thumbup:

But there is a reason we keep comparing to Chris Reeve, they make great knives.

Grant and Gavin Hawk customs frequently go for between 5 and 8 hundred dollars, and are very sophisticated for custom folders (which are virtually all liner/frame locks). I certainly wouldn't hesitate to pick up a G&GH custom that I liked.

Thanks all. I think I am going to get a Les George FM-1 if I can find one with Ti bolsters and wood scales. This might take a while...
