I know almost everybody has different opinoins on this topic, what knife has the best value? Bothe fixed and folding, my personal opinion is the lightweight spyderco manix with translucent blue handles. The reason is that for about 70$ probably less you get a great steel, amazing manufacture (spyderco), nice strong enough lock I think it's the ball bearing lock, and it's made in the USA. Now it's time for you to tell me and others what you believe is the best bang for your buck :)

Folder: Kershaw Blur in S30V or Ontarion RAT 1
Fixed: Becker BK9......not cheap, but all the bang for the buck you're ever gonna get.

If we're talking Spydercos the Native in S30V is very reasonably priced, as is the Buck Vantage Pro (large).

In the budget range there's the Byrd range. I was just looking at the Meadowlark 2 with stainless grips.

Obviously there's the Ontario RAT1 which is an extremely good knife for its price.

If you just want a knife for cutting stuff there's always the Opinel #8.

Then there's the Victorinox range. The SwissChamp is a pretty near perfect multi-tool.

Basically there're too many value knives to make any real decision.

What abouta knife that earns money?

Most chef knives are good values haha.

Jk, I'd say my $30 kershaw folder is a greatvalue, cheap, decent edge and material.

Lasts a long time under garden use.

For a folder I'm stuck between an Endura and a RAT 1. Fixed blade definitely has to be a Mora. I like my first production CS Leatherneck (SK5 steel) and it was only $55, but I would not get the current production

Small Sebenza bought about 5 years ago for $300 or so. Now that means it's been/carried used for 1825 days. $300 divided by 1825 comes out to about 16 cents per day. If I were to sell it, I'd get $250-$300 without much effort. Viewed as cost per day this as turned out to be a pretty good value.:)
