Best value light?

This one is a beauty 2 d cell batteries and an old fashioned light bulb. I carry it on my keychain:D

I'll take it!!:D

Go to 4Sevens.com and look at the Quark and Fenix lights. I have several of the Fenix lights and can highly recommend them. The Quarks are a new line that 4Sevens is doing themselves.

I recently had a similar decision and considered the Icon Rogue 2 and several Fenix models. Ultimately, I went with a Surefire LX2. Not inexpensive, but an excellent light.

If you like the Fenix TK10, the TK11 has the same features and accepts 18650 cells.

+1.

as far as Fenix lights I only have one (pd30- will never leave my possesion) but I recently purchased a Quark 2-AA Tactical neutral tint for ~$55 bucks and it is a extremely well made light IMHO.:)

For less than 20 you can get a romisen rc-c3 from dealextremes.
I have been carrying one for over a yr and for less than 20 shipped to your door it a great deal . Bright litter sucker too.
I'm usually not keen on the overseas stuff but the price was right,

how long does the 123 battery last in that thing?

Some interesting suggestions here.

To me the best value light is the one that didn't cost too much, and is used, or carried the most.

Falling into the latter category I have a Photon 2 (yellow) that has been on my keyring continuously for over 10 years. I chose yellow because at the time brighter white LEDs were not yet available and I seemed to see better under yellow than any other color and it seemed to be the least disturbing and attracted least attention - all very useful features for a quick shot of light in the dark. It has proven itself in just the sheer time I have had it - and because it is always on me I have had the occasion to use it outdoors for walking out in the dark light-less countryside - I would not recommend, nor do it out of choice - but it worked.

One can now buy white LED clones/"Fauxtons" for less than $1 each - these now have pretty bright white LEDs which are probably much more generally useful - but mine remains a dim yellow, and I prefer it that way.

As for the other EDC I carry a Fenix L0D-RB80 which is a single AAA light but has multiple light levels from low at about 10 lumens to high at about 70 lumens - this range is very useful, and a single AAA light carries well in the pocket - I attach a homemade short wrist loop for easier location and retrieval.

I have a Fenix TK-20 that I have carried on multiple camping trips, and I carry it when I do foreclosure/REO properties. I love this little lite and get lots of use out of a set (2xAA) of fully charge energizer rechargable batteries.

I got mine at Fenix store dot com for a good price and totally free shipping.

I also bought three E20's for my Mom and in-laws, they all love their Fenix lights.

+1 on Romisen. I have this one:

It rivals my Olight M20 (which is said to be 250 lumens OTF) in brightness, if I'm running RCR123's (Ultrafires, if you must know:)). It's a great little thrower, too. Not sure how long the batts last under constant use, mine gets occasional use and I haven't swapped out the current RCR123 for over a month. A very nice deal for just over $20. And it comes with an extra tube for 2 AA's.

not too bad for the price.. makes me wonder how long the battery really lasts

I dont know how long it last exactly, but I use Surefire batteries and I cant complain. Of course if you use it for a prolong period of time, battery life will naturally be shorter. When I use the light its probably not for more than a minute or two, sometimes only seconds.
I own three of these lights (well two), one was borrowed by a friend of mine. He loves it, so much I dont think I'm gettin it back

Has anyone bought a ultrafire LED light? would it be worth bidding on ebay?

They are OK as far as the generic Chinese lights go. I would recommend Trustfire or Romisen in their place though.

KA-BLAM! That one seals the deal. I'll still probably end up with a nicer one (leaning towards the Fenix or the 4Sevens) but I'm looking for something cheap and good NOW when I've just shelled out big bucks on college classes and books. Thanks a ton! :D

If you don't mind a light with a 5.9" body, the Fenix LD20 should be a nice versatile light at a reasonable price. I have the older L2D and love it . Fenix store and 4sevens are selling the Q5 edition for $62.

go to 4sevens ask david for a nitecore for 79 bucks one cr123 225 lumens

I don't order from DX for good reason and you shouldn't either. Its like buying a knife from the gas station.

DX? Not quite sure I know what that means. I know the Romisen wouldn't be the world's most amazing piece of work, but it's better than what I have right now, and I plan on getting something super nice later. I want to be able to have a light in each of my different gear bags, and I only have the Bushnell right now. :o

EDIT: Oh. Deal Extreme. Well, wasn't going to buy it there anyhow. :D

DX is dealextreme.com, I've had them send me the wrong lights, lights that don't work and the shipping time is ridiculous sometimes more than 4 weeks. There are plenty of cheap lights but the ones at DX are the cheapest for a reason.
