Best value military grade folder for $100?

Buck Vantage Force Pro. G10 and S30v for $88.

I'd say either of the ZTs mentioned (0350 or 0200) would be an excellent choice for a hard use folder.

What does military grade mean?
I thought I saw this question already...
What does "military grade" mean?
Oh that's right, you asked it already...
I don't think it actually means anything.
People not knowledgeable about particular gear think military grade means the meanest and toughest stuff out there.
Those who know the gear/mil world might think that stuff the mil use often leaves something to be desired.
Looks like an answer...
That was pretty much what I had in mind when I said 'military grade', meanest and toughest stuff out there, perhaps tactical as well.
Yep, that was an answer :D
He just means he wants a folder that can take a beating.

Hmmm, when I was in the USN, some four decades back, a slippie or SAK sufficed. Of course, I was an ET and on a ship. Opening parts packages and stripping wire was about the extent of my knife needs. Perhaps he meant more 'tacticool'-ish?

singularity you are very consistent :)

I think I like the term "military grade", or maybe "professional grade". Perhaps it will separate from "I bought this big, thick folder..I likes it...its good for anything...has to be because I paid lots of $$$$ for it and people on the internet always post pictures of it"

So do marketing departments! :D

I think those terms are more effective when there is some implication that knives of that type are designed for "military" or "professional" use only. That's the way to hook people. Add a little bit of "if you're man enough" to the pitch.

Just to keep on point....multitool like a Leatherman. That's what I'd suggest.

My friend took his zt 0350 with him on his tour to iraq. Said it held up amazingly, and he put it through alot. The only downside was that the Asisted opening broke, but it was still functionable.

Was wondering what "Combat Grade" means as well. Wonder if the slipjoint my grandfather carried all over Africa and Europe in WW2 would qualify as either...

Wouldn't "held up amazingly" be that it didn't break? :D

This thread is like 6 months old.. pretty sure the guy picked a knife by now after his two posts.
