What is the best value spyderco knife? I have a spyderco tenacious, a spyderco delica 4, and a spyderco bug. I am looking for a budget spyderco knife to add to my collection.

Well I would have recommended the Tenacious and Delica so you're off to a good start. If you like the size of the Delica then you might try the Tenacious's next youngest brother, the Persistence. Another small option is the Dragonfly. Also check out the Byrd Cara Cara line...

I think the K2 is one of the best value spydercos right now, but that is not the same thing as a budget spyderco. The resilience is also nice if you want a bigger folder. Or if you can go up in budget a little the manix 2 (xl or regular FFG) are great values for money.

After receiving Spydie #14 (Sage 3 CF) I have come to the conclusion that every single one holds great value.
From the high end to the Byrds, they stand out compared to all competition in the respected price class.
This is one thing I think they have nailed.
Cheers

Do you Byrd owners grow to love the tearshape hole? I'm worried I won't enjoy it as much.

I love the Tear shape hole, I cant decide witch is better. the Round hole might be ever so slightly better, but not by much in my book.

Best value spydie? Whichever one I use the most. If I have a $60 knife that gets 2 minutes of use a month and a $200 knife that gets 2 hours of use a month then the $200 knife is a better value. For me it would either be my pacific salt or my Southfork. Because of kitchen duty the southfork gets used more but its also triple the price. I'm not sure it gets used three times as much as the salt.

They might be more expensive, but I think the Spydercos in steels like S90V, S110V, M390, CTS204P etc are a great value.

Keep an eye on the exchange here. You can score some near new Spydies for a great price sometimes.

For me the best value right now is the Manix2. But it is not really a "budget" knife.

I second this. For me the Manix 2 is the best value of any Spyderco I own. What you get for the money is outstanding.

As far as a budget Spyderco, the Tenacious and Persistence are good budget knives, and the FRN/VG10 DFLy is a great knife for a little more money.

I'd say if you can stretch your budget then get either a regular g10 manic or a pm2. Both great values for what you're getting.

Thanks for the input guys. If anyone hears of a good deal on the pm2, or manix 2 in g-10 let me know

If you like a lot of blade in a small and very carry friendly package, the Caly 3.5 G10 can't be beat in my experience. My PM2 only gets carried on special occasions. The Caly has the same length blade as the PM2 and roughly the same size frame as a Delica. I hated the looks of the knife when I first laid eyes on it.

I got offered a Caly 3.5 in excellent condition plus a Fenix PD22 on the BF exchange for a ZT 0350ts that I never used. It was a great deal for me and I love Fenix. I figured the Caly would be a catch and release but when I got my hands on it I was hooked. It kicked my beloved Sage 1 out of my pocket almost instantly. It also led to me buying a Caly 3 CF. That's my long winded rant about why I love the Caly design.

The Native C41 is a nice knife. Fairly inexpensive and robust. Good size too. This one has S30V blade steel.
