Best Video game console?

Go get a PC. A nice gaming PC outdoes anything a Xbox can do. And it's free afterwards. And there's a much more mature gaming audience.

I rarely use my XBOX360 anymore. I use my PS3 for everything, games, movies, netflix, hulu and anything else. You used to have to get the paid xbox live membership to use netflix but they may have changed that to stay competitive. Also, my 360 glitches out WAY more than my PS3. It might not be a bad idea to cruise pawn shops rather than dropping cash on a new one. I don't know what they go for new these days but I got my PS3 used in a pawn shop about 4 years ago, maybe 5, and it works great. It locks up once in a while but no more than any of my other electronic devices and certainly less than my 360.

First thing I would look at is what games are available for each. The main reason I got my PS3 after already owning a 360 was to play Metal Gear Solid 4. IMO the wii is only good if you like to drink because drunk wii bowling or drunken strip mario cart is pretty fun. Other than that I'm not aware of many good games for grown-ups on the wii that aren't on the others. Plus the wii U is just around the corner whereas I think we still have a year or two left before microsoft or sony come out with a new console.

Play station 3 all the way. The online gameplay is free. It also has more pedigree then xbox. Although I do think the xbox controller is a little nicer.
I have grown up on Playstations, I bought my ps3 when the first came out for 600 dollars, I still use it every day, money well spent.
PC is great but there is always so much trouble installing games, consoles just work.

Update: I spoke with my Son last night. He said that in his opinion PS3 has better graphics and is probably better for sports games because of it. He likes to play online and says that XBox is vastly superior even (or maybe because of) the subscription costs. He has both and plays both but more often than not its the XBox because of online play.

He also said that if you were just looking to get something to play a few games that used PS2s can be found for $50.00 and have tons of good games available.

I would NOT suggest a pawn shop Xbox unless it comes with a warranty. Just buy new. Some of the older 360s had motherboard problems- enter the red ring of death. There are tricks to get it to function normally for short periods of time after it comes down with the red, and guess where they go? Pawn shops and Game Stop.

Get all three!!!

Stop listening to what strangers on the internet are saying about it (including me) and go ask your friends what they have... Whether you plan to play with them online or not, you eventually will want to. Get what they have and then get the others later anyway... Theres enough platform exclusive titles that make owning all of them worth it :)

Always been a fan of gaming. I will say that I never could warm up to the controller on the xbox. Sony has been it for me. I remember my Atari 2600, Vectrex, TurboGrax16, NES, SNES, Sega MS, Sega Saturn, etc. Now, PS3 all the way.
Parents spent a small fortune in consoles over the years. :D

Ha ha! I'm still a BIG fan of video games. I've had just about every system since colecovision. Things are a lot better when you aren't asking someone to buy it for you. :D
