Hi I use my knife - it's never been in safe for 4 years I've had it - I would like to cut off and round back of NMSFNO to open cans an stuff - basically be able to palm stab things and back end is sharp- looks nice but not very utilitarian.

I want to cut where black line is

You would have to send it into Busse and have them modify it. Otherwise you would void your warranty.

This is how I modify my Busse's. The downside is likely voiding your warranty (like you'll ever need it...), the upside is you get to inhale lots of infi-dust.

I credit my own inhalation of infi-dust for my ability to make sense of Skunk's posts... well.... sometimes.

I've done similar mods to my meaner street, Hell-Razor, and Sar5. Worked out just great.

Meh I dont really care about warranties. Thats why we buy good stuffs right?

Will do tomorrow when some light comes :)

In my beer soaked brain I seem to recall modifications will void the warranty IF the modification lead to the failure of the knife. Thinning the blade, etc... I'm not sure removing the tacticool butt of the knife would cause failure of the blade. In fact, I cannot imagine any mod that would cause the NMSFNO to fail under any circumstances. That knife is a beast.

Way to go man! Just do it.
I chopped a SAR 4 a while back and it went well.
I would not hesitate to do it again.

You could round off and blend the Micarta a bit unless you like it flat.

It is rounded as much as as i wanted.Just took the edge off. I kinda wanted a big flat base to pound with my hand or a hammer into metal. I can also use base to hammer nails this way.

I kinda figured you had it right where you want it.
I can understand the usefulness of your design.

Haha - I may do two more mods.

1. Weld that loop I cut off opposite the one still on there (like Gemini) to be symmetrical.

2. Make whole new micarta handle - round with SS base plate at end.
