Best way to "museum stabilize" mammoth tooth?

About 20 years ago, I came across a 8" x 9" x 3.5" mammoth tooth supposedly found on site at a cave painting site in Les Eyzes France (I was visiting the cave at the time). It cost $75, so I assumed it was a replica, but I later discovered it is a real mammoth tooth. Fast forward 20 years, when I pulled it out to show my kids, I notice that the resin coating has separated in a couple places and there are a couple deep fissures in the tooth along the grain lines.

I would like to stabilize this so my kids can have it when they grow up. I don't intend to ever make anything with it - just to display this as a tooth.

This is a knife making forum, but it's the only place I found any reference to how to stabilize a mammoth tooth. So I would appreciate any advice you could offer!

Thank you.

Good pictures will be needed to give much advice.

Possibly, the tooth may just be sprayed with Varathane, and a new coating is needed.

I just added a link with pictures to my original post. It's on Craigslist bc I couldn't figure out how to add it here. Thank you!!!
