Someone please tell me what is the best product/method for removing rust that has appeared on a typical stainless-type knife? (such as ATS-55, G2, AUS-8, 440C)

I have a tube of Flitz, which I am sure I read somewhere was great for rust removal, but it doesn't seem to do jack. I had a Kershaw Amphibian which got rusty and when I applied Flitz, first with a paper towel, it barely seemed to do anything. I eventually got desperate and used the Flitz with a green scouring pad, which as you know ruined the knife's finish for the sake of rust removal.

What am I doing wrong? What should I be doing?? Help me before I ruin another knife!! :(

"The Rust Eraser" works just like a pencil eraser just rub the rust off. Don't use it on blades with black finishes though it will rub the black off, although I haveused it for the purpose of rubbing the black off and it does a nice looking job.

Flitz metal polish will do well also for smaller amounts of rust or just spots. Large areas are too much for Flitz.

Good old Navel Jelly will get the worst of the worst kinds of rust off a knife.

I would use the eraser works great.

I'm not one of those people who have 50 diferrent cleaning products in the cupboard that all do virtually the same job. I like consolidating (is that a word  ) White Lighning products always do the job for me.....I even use the stuff on my USP 9mm.

Comes with wax lubricant, cleaner, and polisher.:p
