best way to sanitize a blade?

got a knife is trade with what appears to be blood drops on the blade, whats the best way to sanitize it?

Soap and hot water. That is what doctors use, so it should be good for your knife.

No problem and btw i use alcohol wipes to sanitize my blades!

i usually whipe down all the knives i get in trade with some disinecting clorox whipes, but with actuall visible blood spots , id think id need something alil more powerful.

Is this dried blood? Just wipe it off with a damp cloth, then dry it. If you are scared of germs, use alcohol or bleach.

Stays on for as long as you like. Wipes clean and make the blade nice and shiny.

I couldn't agree more. Unless you've never used a kitchen knife before, what specialized knowledge is necessary?

Wash it with soap and water just like you do other cutlery, gets it germ free in not time.

Or, torch the blade and don't worry about the heat treat, it will kill everything......

I get blood on my EDC knife all the time because I prefer my steak medium or medium rare. Dish soap and water is good enough for most purposes. Clorox recommends 1 table spoon bleach per gallon of water to disinfect surfaces, while the CDC recommends 1:100 solution (roughly 3 table spoons per gallon of water). If this is not good enough you can always get an autoclave.

Soap and hot water, then once dry a little alcohol and your done. Stay away from Clorox wipes, bleach etc, bleach is a heavy oxidizing agent and will attack and breakdown stainless steel, again bleach causes rust.
