I've recently come into a bigger budget! I got $37.00, to spend on whatever I please at SMKW! Happy Human eh? But, I plan on getting an Opinel and maybe a Si Teaglass(huge duck dynasty fan) so I get about $30.00 more to spend at BPS or SMKW, I've really pondered joining Spydernation or the Order Of The KAI but I'm torn, here's my ponderings:(PS, Sorry for all the started threads I'm trying to make a big decision, I'll post more in other threads once my insatiable knife appetite is satisfied! And any other suggestions are appreciated! I enjoy learning on BladeForums and picked up quite a bit of steel knowledge!)
--Opinel(A Guarantee)
--Spyderco
--Kershaw
--Swiss Army(Both Vic and Wenger
--Mora/Condor

If you don't want to spend more - Kershaw Skyline is great bang for your buck. I was hesitant at first, but it has grown on me, and I end up carrying it frequently (even over much "nicer" knives).

But what about putting this aside and saving up a bit more for a bit more knife down the road? Or is this a "use it or lose it" situation?

Well, since you got only $37, I can't help you. $37.50 or $38, and we could talk.

(:D Pick up a Kabar Dozier Folding Hunter...I have the "large"...great knife for not a lotta coin.)

I am not sure what type of person you are, but if I were starting over and knew I was going to get into it like I am now, I would skip all my cheaper knives. I just don't touch them anymore. I gave my Tenacious to my brother, my wife keeps my Skyline in her purse, and my other cheaper knives stay in my car and my wife's car just in case I forget a knife. I bought quite a few good knives that I was happy with at the time, but have since moved on. Maybe I will get into customs and feel like I was wasting my money on $150+ production knives but I seemed to have settled in on that price range.

I agree with this. Personally, I wouldn't bother with a Tenacious or cheaper Kershaw... save up and jump into something like a Delica to start your Spydie addiction.

Although I'd say just get the Opinel and a SAK. Those aren't knives that ever feel "cheap" to me and will probably cut better than most knives 10x their cost.

You can get this Kershaw Tremor and have some left over for an Opinel
It really is worth 2X the selling price.

Yeah, I'm thinking more along the Order Of The KAI, and The Order Of The Opie, because really where I'm headed the only Spyderco's I can really afford are the Byrd series

Pick up a Condor knife. You won't regret it for a second. Save your Spyderco and Kershaw purchases for a larger budget. You'll find better buys with them when you bump your budget up a bit. Condor will give you a bigger bang for the $ you have without leave you wanting more.

If you can find the Kershaw Tremor for $37.00, that would be the way to go. All I've seen are the partially serrated blades.
